Shimano SM-SH12 SPD SL Cleat Set - 2° Float Blue

The blue Shimano SPD-SL cleat: 2 degrees of float, with the pivot point set at the front of the cleat. That front pivot is the detail worth understanding — your heel can move slightly while the ball of your foot stays put over the pedal axle, so you get a little natural rotation without your foot wandering under load.

Blue is the middle option in Shimano's range. Choose it if the red fixed cleat feels harsh on your knees but the yellow 6-degree cleat feels vague and imprecise underfoot. For most riders with reasonable pedalling mechanics, blue is the right compromise.
